Roofs - no longer out-of-sight-out-of-mind...
Every building has a roof that will require repair and eventually replacement. When to replace a roof is a decision that owners and managers struggle with daily. The "out-of-sight-out-of-mind" approach is uncommon now and roofs are receiving the life-cycle cost planning and scheduled maintenance they need to provide long and problem-free service lives and efficient cost.
Staff and Principals at GRG have assessed and designed repairs for roof systems ranging from single-ply exposed and inverted, to conventional BUR and ballasted, metal to shingled, and flat to steeply pitched. Those designs are based on comprehensive roof assessments to check for roof and flashing defects, moisture, and overall condition, but also on the capacity of the supporting structural system, and the capital and maintenance expectations of the owner and manager.
GRG has also prepared 5-year repair and replacement plans for entire portfolios involving hundreds of roofs, as well as set up and maintained roof assessment and maintenance protocols to react to emergency repairs.
