Building science is a relatively new field of engineering. Past best-practices and custom-of-the-trade design and construction are now being challenged. So are the standards and the evaluation tools used by engineers.

GRG has provided studies of the applicability of standards to today's construction needs, developed simple evaluation tools to assess complex problems, and designed sampling protocols and undertaken surveys to assess key factors affecting sustainable maintenance of buildings.
