Pavements are structures. The components include the subsoil, sub-base, base, and asphaltic or plain concrete pavement layers. Performance relies on the correct design of the pavement structure in combination with drainage, loadings, and maintenance.

GRG has assessed existing pavements, designed replacement pavements and repairs, and designed new road systems using both conventional pavement structures and reinforced structures.
